1) The Little Mermaid
Living under water and being a princess with a seashell bra!?! come on. Legs are the least of Ariel's worries. This has always been my favorite Disney movie because it's so far fetched and the story is great. I'm still a little afraid of Ursula.
2) The Lion King
This little gem is so classic, cute and really intense at the same time! I swear some of these Disney movies are so political and have hidden messages, especially for the little kid genre that they are. The Lion King wins second place on my list mostly because of it's awesome soundtrack and the hilarious characters.
Simba's so cute
3) Toy Story!
Love it. Toy Story is so great and I adored every sequel. The timing of the 3 movies is awesome and so perfect with my age group. It's like I grew up with Woody and Buzz! Love the entire movie and I really hope that my old toys love me as much as Andy's toys love him. 'You've Got a Friend in Me' still gets me a little teary-eyed.
4) Aladdin
Love this exotic Disney flick. It's so great and so scandalous at the same time. Aladdin and Jasmine are by far my favorite Disney couple and Jafar still scares me. It's the only exotic Disney movie and actually really funny since the movie supposedly takes place in India, but yet they all speak perfect English. Ahhh love Disney.
Plus, who can beat a blue Robin Williams?
5) Monsters Inc.
This movie is so funny. Like actually makes me laugh. It's a later Disney flick but I think that's why I like it more. The big fluffy monsters that are supposed to be scary is a perfect plot line for a movie. Love it. Plus, Boo is just adorable.
6) Alice in Wonderland
One of my favorite books of all time andI love the movie version too. So trippy and awesome the way its filmed and written. I love the difference of Alice compared to every other Disney movie. Such a different way of going about a kid film!!
7) Pocohantas
A spin-off of a classic American true-story, even though they actually kill Pocohantas at the end. I love the Grandma Weeping Willow and the intensity of the characters. I think it's a little far fetched that they turned this horrific tale of Indian killing into a kid film, but hey, i still love it!
8) Fantasia
Ahhh what a different kind of film Fantasia is! It's so awesome. I was so deathly afraid of it when I was little but now I appreciate it so much more. It's like the creators of Disney were sick of the fluffy, baby movies they were creating and decided to write this dramatic and sensitive animated movie only staring Micky Mouse, with almost no words! The water and broom scene still gives me chills, not gonna lie.
9) Hercules
Love the spin-off of Greek Mythology. Obviously didn't quite grasp this when I was 7 but now rewatching it, the writers are so witty with the Greek Myth one-liners. I love it. I still have my Meg and Hercules collectibles. It's probably one of the only Disney movies that is actually funny for adults too.
And the animation is so different than the standard Disney animation!
10) Peter Pan
Another one of my favorite books, honeslty probably my favorite. But the movie is awesome too! I of course adore the story line and the characters and absolutely love the 'never grow up' theme behind the entire movie. One of the oldest and one of the best! Read the book!!!
Plus, Hook was spun-off of this movie. Which is definitily one of the greatest movies ever!
watch it!
What are your favorite Disney movies?! Did i do old Walt justice in this list?
